The article proposes, after a general definition of the concept of integral ecology, the explanation of three veins of influence which have been identified: a republican vein, a Christian vein and a transconfessional vein. Five dimensions of integral ecology (technical, economic, political, philosophical and spiritual) are then made explicit and are presented as the geological strata of the crisis. They are considered indispensable for an integral understanding of ecology.
