He died at his home in Port Royal (Kentucky), where he had lived and worked as a farmer for much of his life.

Author of more than fifty books of poetry, fiction and essays, Berry strongly criticized industrial agriculture, consumerism and the rootless economy. In works such as The Unsettling of America (1977) and The Gift of Good Land (1981), he advocated for an agriculture rooted in the land, in communities and in their ecological limits, as well as the value of farming, work and local life.

Deeply influenced by the Christian faith, he understood the ecological crisis also as a spiritual and cultural crisis. For him, the Earth was not a simple resource, but a reality of which we are a part and which we have a duty to safeguard. His work has exerted a notable influence on Christian ecological thought and on contemporary movements in defense of sustainable agriculture and local economies.

On August 31, 2026, Wendell Berry, a writer, poet, farmer and thinker of the U.S.A, one of the…

[130
311,361
post-132016","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-christianity","tag-traditional-knowledge","has-post-title","has-post-date","has-post-category","has-post-tag","has-post-comment","has-post-author","
["GET
