Their statement, entitled \u201cPreserving and Cherishing the Earth: An Appeal for Joint Commitment in Science and Religion\u201d, was presented on January 1990 to the Global Forum of Spiritual and Parliamentary Leaders Conference in Moscow, where it was signed by two hundred and seventy-one well-known spiritual leaders from 83 countries. The appeal concludes stating that \u201cThe environmental crisis requires radical changes not only in public policy, but in individual behaviour.
