{"id":67777,"date":"2008-10-28T00:00:01","date_gmt":"2008-10-27T22:00:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/silene.idilicstudio.com\/?p=67777"},"modified":"2021-02-20T09:50:40","modified_gmt":"2021-02-20T08:50:40","slug":"presentation-at-the-iucn-world-conservation-congress-of-the-results-of-research-into-different-concepts-of-nature-spain-2008","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.silene.ong\/en\/news\/presentation-at-the-iucn-world-conservation-congress-of-the-results-of-research-into-different-concepts-of-nature-spain-2008","title":{"rendered":"First IUCN Resolution that urges to recognize the different concepts and values \u200b\u200bof nature"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The study promoted by the Silene Association of the different concepts of nature present in a representative sample of the world\u2019s languages was debated as part of a motion presented at the IUCN World Conservation Congress in Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p>Motion 121 entitled \u201c<strong>Recognition of the diversity of concepts and values of nature<\/strong>\u201d was presented by the World Commission on Protected Areas\u2019 Task Force on the Cultural and Spiritual Values of Protected Areas, and sponsored by DEPANA, Fundaci\u00f3 Caixa Catalunya and SAVIA.<\/p>\n<p>The motion was passed after a number of debates thanks to the support of The Ethics Specialist Group belonging to the IUCN\u2019s Commission on Environmental Law, The Wild Foundation and Parks Canada, amongst others.
