{"id":67950,"date":"2012-10-02T00:00:01","date_gmt":"2012-10-01T22:00:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/silene.idilicstudio.com\/?p=67950"},"modified":"2021-02-21T18:59:54","modified_gmt":"2021-02-21T17:59:54","slug":"comments-on-the-ramsar-convention-and-culture-draft-strategic-action-plan-2012-2016-september-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.silene.ong\/en\/news\/comments-on-the-ramsar-convention-and-culture-draft-strategic-action-plan-2012-2016-september-2012","title":{"rendered":"Comments on The Ramsar Convention and culture: Draft Strategic Action Plan 2012-2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Silene Association submitted comments on <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.silene.es\/resultado.asp?Busqueda=1&amp;IdDocumento=236&amp;IdAmbito=10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Ramsar Convention and culture: Draft Strategic Action Plan 2012-2016<\/a><\/em> that address the following points: (i) language, especially the scope of the term <em>culture<\/em>, as a means of ensuring that it includes religion and spirituality, as per UNESCO criteria; (ii) the involvement of local people in recognition and management, including targets B, C and D, and also development opportunities; and (iii) suggested new actions:\u00a0 the documentation of the relevant religious and spiritual values of wetlands in order to develop further the preliminary papers on this topic presented at the 2009 Prespa Workshop by Nejib Benessaiah and Josep-Maria Mallarach.
