{"id":68022,"date":"2013-07-24T00:00:01","date_gmt":"2013-07-23T22:00:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/silene.idilicstudio.com\/?p=68022"},"modified":"2021-02-20T09:31:43","modified_gmt":"2021-02-20T08:31:43","slug":"work-on-the-aplecs-of-lalt-pirineu-natural-park-catalonia-spain-and-its-area-of-influence-may-october-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.silene.ong\/en\/news\/work-on-the-aplecs-of-lalt-pirineu-natural-park-catalonia-spain-and-its-area-of-influence-may-october-2013","title":{"rendered":"Study on the \u201caplecs\u201d of L\u2019Alt Pirineu Natural Park and its area of influence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From May to October 2013 the Silene Association studied around twenty <i>aplecs <\/i>(a type of local pilgrimage with a significant identity value for local communities) held in <a href=\"http:\/\/www20.gencat.cat\/portal\/site\/parcsnaturals\/menuitem.93512201aa2411c0e6789a10b0c0e1a0\/?vgnextoid=14c50b0944f42210VgnVCM1000008d0c1e0aRCRD&amp;vgnextchannel=14c50b0944f42210VgnVCM1000008d0c1e0aRCRD&amp;vgnextfmt=default&amp;newLang=en_GB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">L\u2019Alt Pirineu Natural Park<\/a> and its socio-economic area of influence. This work embraced the natural, social, cultural and spiritual dimensions of these popular events that take place in areas of outstanding natural beauty. The project, partially funded by the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Food and Natural Environment of Catalonia, and co-financed by EAFRD, aimed to analyze and publicize the intangible heritage of <i>aplecs <\/i>linked to this territory and to improve the ability of key stakeholders to conserve and promote them.<\/p>\n<p>The work consisted of three main aspects: awareness-raising amongst the local population, the training of Park management staff, and a campaign amongst Park visitors and local people using activities such as document retrieval, field observation and interviews and meetings with key stakeholders to promote the celebration of these <i>aplecs<\/i>.
