{"id":68028,"date":"2013-09-12T00:00:01","date_gmt":"2013-09-11T22:00:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/silene.idilicstudio.com\/?p=68028"},"modified":"2021-02-20T09:27:16","modified_gmt":"2021-02-20T08:27:16","slug":"second-conference-on-art-nature-and-spirituality-in-farrera-catalonia-6-8-september-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.silene.ong\/en\/news\/second-conference-on-art-nature-and-spirituality-in-farrera-catalonia-6-8-september-2013","title":{"rendered":"Second Seminar on Art, Nature and Spirituality of Farrera, Catalonia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 6-8 September, the Silene Association in collaboration with the Alt Pirineu Natural Park and the Centre d\u2019Art i Nature of Farrera organized the <i>Second Conference on Art, Nature and Spirituality<\/i> in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.farreracan.cat\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Centre d\u2019Art i Natura in Farrera<\/a>.The conference focused on aplecs (gatherings in natural areas developed from ancient pilgrimages) in the Natural Park and its area of influence. Its integrated approach discussed the main intangible dimensions of these events: history, landscape, identity, music, crafts, religious, spiritual, etc. On <b>Friday 6<\/b> the conference began with a welcome from the organizers. Then, Josep-Maria Mallarach gave a talk titled &#8220;<b>Why protected natural areas should be interested in <i>aplecs<\/i><\/b>&#8220;, which was followed by a discussion. The day ended with the screening of a film prepared by the Association Silene that included modern and historical images of the aplecs in this part of the Pyrenees.On <b>Saturday 7th<\/b> the following papers were presented:Francesc Roma: <b>The elements and natural forces in the <i>goigs <\/i>of the <i>aplecs <\/i>in the Pyrenees.<\/b><br \/>\nJoan Escales: <b>The spiritual dimension <i>aplecs <\/i>in the Alt Pirineu.<\/b><br \/>\nEsther G. Llop: <b>The social construction of territory through the singing of <i>goigs<\/i>.<br \/>\n<\/b>Josep Ma\u00f1\u00e0:<b> Material cultural heritage of <i>aplecs<\/i>.<\/b><br \/>\nAbdul Hafiz Garcia: <b>A new event for spiritual enrichment: the gatherings at the <i>maqam <\/i>in Burg.<\/b><br \/>\nMontserrat Sol\u00e0: <b>The experience of the Montsant Natural Park in <i>aplec<\/i> management.<\/b>Afterwards, the participants enjoyed a magnificent recital of traditional polyphony by the <a href=\"http:\/\/tornaveus.blogspot.com.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tornaveus <\/a>group in the Romanesque chapel of Santa Eul\u00e0lia d\u2019Alendo, near Farrera.<b>On the 8th<\/b>, a roundtable discussed a number of ideas and initiatives aimed at revitalizing, disseminating and evaluating <i>aplecs <\/i>and the rich natural, cultural and spiritual elements that they enshrine.
