Religion in the Pyrenees: land, society and culture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Conjointly, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cecripolles.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Centre d\u2019Estudis Comarcals del Ripoll\u00e8s<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ddgi.cat\/publicacions\/home.seam?categoriaId=4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Patronat Francesc Eiximenis de la Diputaci\u00f3 de Girona<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ccepc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Coordinadora de Centres d\u2019Estudis de Parla Catalana<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/cerib.blogspot.com.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Centre d\u2019Estudis Ribagor\u00e7ans<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.irmu.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Institut Ramon Muntaner <\/a>organized the VIII International Colloquium on Trans-Pyrnean Studies, which took place on 27-29 September 2013 in N\u00faria, Catalonia, Spain.<\/p>\n<p>This year the conference focused on the study of the impact of religion on the Pyrenees throughout its history from a number of different perspectives: anthropology, ethnology, history, arts and heritage, economy and cultural tourism, political and territorial organization, etc.The sanctuary of N\u00faria, home to the Symposium, is surrounded by natural protected areas and is wonderful place for welcoming the contributions and discussions on the different fields of study.<\/p>\n<p><u>Area 1:<\/u> <b>Landscapes of Religion: tangible and intangible culture linked to religion in the Pyrenees.<\/b><br \/>\n<u>Area 2:<\/u> <b>History of religion in the Pyrenees: continuities and ruptures.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><u>Roundtable:<\/u><b> Religion, wealth and power.<\/b>The Silene Association presented a paper on <i><b>Aplecs in the Alt Prineu Natural Park and its surroundings: a synthesis of cultural and spiritual values in a natural setting<\/b><\/i>.
