The ceremony has taken place in Stockholm and has been the culmination of a ten-day program of celebrations in Germany, Switzerland and Sweden.<\/p>\n<p>In his acceptance speech, the 4th december 2019, Davi said: \u201cI want to help my indigenous brothers by asking the international authorities to pressure the Government of Brazil to proceed to the demarcation of the lands of other indigenous peoples. I have always fought for the rights of my people, the Yanomami, and the Ye\u2019kwanas. This award is a new weapon to reinforce the struggle of our people. \u201d<\/p>\n<p>Davi Kopenawa led a campaign for his people over twenty years to protect their Amazon territory.
