Silene’s allegation to improving the new legal protection proposed for the Albera

The Government of Catalonia has opened a public consultation to define and apply a broader and more coherent protection for the natural system of the Albera (Alt Empordà), bordering the Cap de Creus Natural Park and the Natura 2000 network and the La Massana nature reserve on the northern slope (Rosselló). The southern Albera is already partially protected with four legal figures: Space of Natural Interest, Natural Site of National Interest, Partial Nature Reserve and Natura 2000 network, which now want to be completed and united with the Natural Park. Silene has presented an allegation to improve the proposal for public information, targeting five objectives, with the aim of improving the transversal integration of the intangible heritage and the most significant cultural and spiritual values ​​that shape the identity of this exceptional landscape, with concepts such as the megalithic sacred landscape or historical pilgrimage routes.
