Summer course on contemplation of nature and its ethical implications

Navacerrada National Park, Madrid, Spain24-26 June 2019

The Chair of environmental ethics of the University of Alcalá organizes, from 24 to 26 June, a a summer course on contemplation of nature and its ethical implications in Sierra de Guadarrama National Park, north of the Madrid metropolitan area, Spain.

The objective of the course, of 36 teaching hours, is to provide an attractive introduction to the contemplation of nature through a set of reflective and experiential activities in which different approaches will be used, integrating artistic languages ​, such as music and poetry. It is expected to arouse in the participating students a more profound and respectful way of relating to nature, including that of their own being.

In addition to the director of the Chair, Professor Emilio Chuvieco, the faculty includes Beatriz Calvo,Carlos de Prada and Josep Maria Mallarach, president of Silene Association.

The course, in Spanish, is intended for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as professionals from disciplines related to the environment and environmental ethics in a broad sense.

Enrollment can be made from April 10, 2019. The registration period ends one week before the start of the selected course or when the places offered have been filled.
