Sacred Mountains, Climate Change, and the Environment
Edwin Bernbaum2021
Sacred mountains dramatically highlight the effects of climate change and people’s relationship with the environment. Edwin Bernbaum, who wrote his doctoral thesis on the world’s sacred mountains, examines in this lecture, accompanied by magnificent photographs taken by him, the impacts of global warming on some of the world’s most important sacred mountains, as well as on the people who worship them and depend on them for vital water. He concludes with a reflection based on the projects he has worked on that use the inspiring and sacred value of mountains to promote environmental and cultural conservation.
