Cántico de las criaturas. Palabras de un pobre que celebra
Víctor Herrero de Miguel 2026
This publication coincides with the 800th anniversary of the ‘Canticle of the Creatures’ by Saint Francis of Assisi, one of the best-known Christian hymns of praise, a powerful message about the interaction between creatures and their Creator. The analysis made by the author, a Capuchin friar, philologist and doctor of Sacred Scripture, is not linguistic but focuses on the social repercussions and conversion to “integral ecology”, a term proposed by Pope Francis in the encyclical Laudato si’. The canticle of the poor man of Assisi introduces us to a fraternal relationship with all that has been created that disqualifies any utilitarian, reductionist, possessive or manipulative view. It is an invitation to change our way of living and transform our relationships with the environment and with each other. Justice is the narrow path to achieving the promise offered to us. It is available in both Spanish and Catalan.
